Knee pain from the point of view of Ayurveda
Unbearable pain in joints, tenderness, stiffness or locking can be the signs of knee pain. Knee pain is more common. And it’s not just the aged class complaining. Even young adults come up with an aching knee joint. The most common causes are sprained ligaments, torn meniscus and tendinitis. Simple reasons like a twist, a misstep or strain from some physical activity . But it can also be due to due to injuries or conditions affecting any part of knee joint including bones, ligaments, cartilage . It can be localized or involve the whole knee joint. Knee problems may start suddenly or pain may also begin as a mild discomfort and may slowly get worse. According to Ayurveda problem with joints are caused due to the accumulation of Ama (toxins). With this prolonged aggregation of toxins, the joints are inflamed and lose strength overtime.
