Tinnitus

Tinnitus from the point of view of Ayurveda

Tinnitus - ringing in the ears, is the sensation of hearing ringing, buzzing, chirping, whistling, or other sounds. Noise can be intermittent or continuous, and its volume can vary. It's often worse when the background noise is low, so you're best aware of it at night when you're trying to fall asleep in a quiet room. Some people with tinnitus have no difficulty hearing, and in some cases they become even so acutely sensitive to sound (hyperacusis) that they need to take steps to suppress external noise. Sometime Tinnitus are caused by infections or blockages in the ear, and can disappear once the underlying cause is treated.  Most often prolonged exposure to loud sounds is the most common cause of tinnitus . Carpenters, pilots, rock musicians, street-repair workers, and landscapers or other loud devices or who repeatedly listen to loud music is in the risk group. A single exposure to a sudden extremely loud noise can also cause tinnitus. A variety of other conditions and illnesses can lead to tinnitus, including: - lockages of the ear due to a buildup of wax, an ear infection, certain drugs - most notably aspirin, several types of antibiotics and antidepressants, Meniere's disease, which affects the inner part of the ear, Otosclerosis, high blood pressure, cardiovascular disease, circulatory problems, anemia, allergies, Neck or jaw problems, injuries to the head and neck
