Sinusitis

Sinusitis from the point of view of Ayurveda

Sinusitis is an inflammation or swelling of the tissue lining the sinuses. Sinuses are hollow spaces within the bones between your eyes, behind your cheekbones, and in your forehead. They make mucus, which keeps the inside of your nose moist. Healthy sinuses are filled with air. But when they become blocked and filled with fluid, germs can grow and cause an infection..  Sinusitis can be usually caused by an bacterial infection, often happen after a common cold,  with allergies or  asthma and also teats. There are 3 types of sinusitis:
Acute (short-term ) -  usually last  2-4 weeks
Chronic ( long-term ) -  this lasts for more than 12 weeks and can continue for months or years
Recurrent - this means the infection comes back again and again. It means 3 or more episodes of acute sinusitis in a year.
Sinusitis refers to the inflammation of the internal membranes lining the paranasal sinuses— which are small air-filled spaces positioned in the bones of the head just around the nose.
